Album Release – Sounds of Wild Thailand III: Forest of Life

by | Mar 2, 2015 | Album Releases

Known as one of the last refuges for the Indochinese Tiger, Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in western Thailand is a success story in wildlife conservation. As well as tiger, the reserve boasts healthy populations of other large mammals including Asian Elephant, Gaur, Banteng, Leopard and Indian Water Buffalo. A reason for the high diversity of birds and mammals is the variety of habitats, ranging from evergreen rainforest to dry open woodlands and grassy meadows.

This album is the third in the series ‘Sounds of Wild Thailand’ and features the vibrant sounds of Huai Kha Khaeng’s forests from dawn until dusk.

Species recorded include: Indochinese Tiger, Thai Golden Jackal, Green Peafowl & many more bird species. For full details & to download visit the album page.

Huai Kha Khaeng is home to a healthy population of Indochinese Tigers – but they are elusive and tend to avoid contact with humans, making them very difficult to see in this reserve.
