Bukit Fraser: Rainforest Dawn - Album Cover

Album Description

Nestled amongst the jungle-clad mountains of Pahang province, Bukit Fraser (Fraser’s Hill) is one of Malaysia’s prime birding destinations and an ideal base to explore the surrounding forests. At higher altitudes, the cool montane forests provide relief from the tropical heat in the lowlands and host a diversity of animal and plant species which specialize in this more temperate habitat. In the sub-montane valleys below the temperature is significantly higher and these humid rainforests are home to a wide variety of lowland flora and fauna. This variety in altitude and forest-types makes the area a biological hotspot and the sounds recorded in this album reflect this remarkable diversity.

This album is a compilation of dawn and early morning recordings made in the Fraser’s Hill area over a period of several days.
