Tangkoko Morning – A Rainforest Soundscape from Sulawesi

Tangkoko Nature Reserve protects one of the few remaining areas of pristine lowland rainforest in northern Sulawesi. Much of the biodiversity here is unique, including the stunning Celebes Crested Macaque (Macaca nigra) and tiny Spectral Tarsier (Tarsius spectrum).

This natural soundscape was recording early morning, deep in the forests of Tangkoko, and captures the rich, exotic sounds of this vanishing habitat.

Species recorded on this track include Green Imperial Pigeon, Black-naped Fruit Dove, Black-billed Koel, Ornate Lorikeet, Blue-backed Parrot, Knobbed Hornbill, Sulawesi Hornbill, Black-naped Oriole, Pied Cuckooshrike, Pale-blue Monarch and many more…
