ARboretum App by Apositive
An interactive, educational application for mobile devices incorporating nature sounds by Wild Ambience.
The ARboretum app allows users to explore forests with their ears as well as their eyes.
Developed to engage visitors to the National Arboretum, Canberra, Australia, the app charts a user’s location in the forest and feeds descriptive information and audio/visual media related to the user’s position. For example, trees from all over the world are grown at the arboretum and as a user approaches a particular tree or forest, the app will respond by playing wild sounds native to the tree’s country of origin. Wild Ambience supplied nature sounds from the Australian bush for use in this project.
