Peron’s Tree Frog
Calls & Sounds
The Peron’s Tree Frog (Litoria peronii) is a large species of frog found in south-eastern Australia. They are also known as Emerald-spotted Tree Frog or Laughing Tree Frog. Peron’s Tree Frogs are a relatively common frog species and can often be found in urban areas.
What does a Peron’s Tree Frog sound like? The typical call of the Peron’s Tree Frog is a harsh drawn-out cackle. These loud calls are most often given in spring and summer when males call to attract a mate. Male frogs often call from high up in trees, but can also be heard calling from ground level vegetation at times.
