Humboldt’s Squirrel Monkey (Saimiri cassiquiarensis)

Squirrel monkeys are medium-sized New World monkeys in the genus Saimiri. There are are seven recognized species found in Central and South Amercia. 

What does a Squirrel Monkey sound like? Squirrel Monkeys make a wide range of vocalizations including high-pitched squeaks and squeals, twitters, chirrups and trills. When they sense a threat nearby, Squirrel Monkeys make dry, sneezing alarm calls. The seven squirrel monkey species appear to make calls which are very similar to one another.
