Epauletted Fruit Bat
Sounds & Calls
The epauletted fruits bats (Epomophorus sp.) are a genus of fruit bat found in Africa. There are around 10 recognized species.
What does an epauletted fruit bat sound like? Most species of epaulatted fruit bat make squeaky, insect-like pinging calls. These calls sometimes build into more excited, yapping calls. The pinging calls of epauletted fruit bats are a common sound at night in many places throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
