Side-striped Jackal
Calls
The Side-striped Jackal (Lupulella adusta) is a canid found in woodlands and scrubby habitats across much of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is also known as Canis adusta. Side-striped Jackals are slightly larger and heavier on average than the closely related Black-backed Jackal.
What does a Side-striped Jackal sound like? The vocalizations of Side-striped Jackals mostly consist of gruff calls and yelping barks. They do not howl as much as their noisier cousin the Black-backed Jackal.
