The Grey-headed Bushshrike (Malaconotus blanchoti) is a large species of bushshrike found in woodlands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa.
What does a Grey-headed Bushshrike sound like? The song of the Grey-headed Bushshrike is a series of mournful, resonant whistles repeated several times in each series. Pairs sometimes call in duet with the female bird often making harsher rasping calls in response to the whistles of the male. They also make a range of other sounds including buzzies, mewing calls and bill snaps.
