Rose-ringed Parakeet
Calls & Sounds
The Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri) is a common and widespread species of parrot native to the Indian subcontinent and parts of Africa. This species is also known as the Indian Ringneck.
What does a Rose-ringed Parakeet sound like? Rose-ringed Parakeets are noisy, social parrots and make a range of shrill squawks, piercing screeches and grating calls. They often call in flight with squeaky, repeated downslurred ‘kyeeh-kyeeh-kyeeh..’ notes.
