The Sarus Crane (Grus antigone) is the world’s tallest flying bird. Found in the tropical north of Australia, as well the Indian subcontinent and parts of South-east Asia, Sarus Cranes are listed as vulnerable throughout ther range due to declining populations as a result of human activity.
What does a Sarus Crane sound like? Sarus Cranes make a range of guttural bugling and trumpeting sounds as well as rattling calls, cries and purrs. Sarus Cranes often call in unison as pairs or small groups.
