Orange-footed Scrubfowl (Megapodius reinwardt)

The Orange-footed Scrubfowl (Megapodius reinwardt) is a species of megapode found in the tropical north of Australia as well as in parts of New Guinea, Indonesia & Timor.  They are sometimes referred to as the Orange-footed Megapode.

What does an Orange-footed Scrubfowl sound like? Orange-footed Scrubfowls make loud, wild calls consisting of chirrups, clucks, cackles, gurgling trills and far-carrying drawn-out crowing sounds. These calls are often given as a duet between a pair of birds and can be heard day or night. They also make clucking rattles as an alarm call when disturbed.
